10 years of women making peace
A decade of dedication, determination and action for a political agreement with the participation of women
Editor's note
Women making peace celebrate a decade!
Celebrating and not celebrating. Cherish the past and look to the future.
The site represents, makes accessible and derives ten years of extensive, dedicated and determined activity, activity of thousands of women (and men), who did and are doing for a better future for us and our children.
We acted according to a strategy, without giving up even in difficult moments, without apologizing, out of a sense of deep and heavy responsibility - as citizens, as mothers, as women.
When we founded the movement, following the cursed Eitan Cliff War, we never imagined that ten years later we would still be living in ceaseless rounds of fighting, and now in the longest war in the country's history, and all this with no visible political horizon!
We do not despair, we continue to work for a respectful political agreement, with the participation of women, hoping and demanding a listening ear. Only political agreements bring security.
This is the only way! We don't have children for unnecessary wars.
Vivian Silver, our friend who was brutally murdered on October 7, 2023 in her home in Kibbutz Bari, used to quote Mahatma Gandhi:
"There is no way to peace. Peace is the way."
We wish for the end of the war and the return of the abductees.
We will keep the hope for better days and continue to work for their arrival. Join us!
We worked to influence the decision makers
1.
We stood outside the Prime Minister's house; We stood outside the Knesset; We sat in tents; We fasted - as in the days of the Tzuk Eitan War - outside the Prime Minister's house; We repeatedly visited the Knesset and the Knesset committees; We drafted the policy alternatives bill first, we demanded from the parties: include the issue of the importance of a political agreement with the participation of women in your platform; We met with decision makers, we called on citizens to vote for peace.

We worked to influence public opinion that peace is possible, we worked to convince that only a political agreement would bring security; We made sure to preserve the hope that it should and can be better here.
We did it in every possible way:
we sang; we danced; We marched, and marched, and marched; we shouted; We blocked; we rode; we ran; We stood at intersections and bridges; we painted; we lay; We have represented; We tested; Shagno; We congratulated the agreement with the Emirates; We established the path of peace; We sent peace

We worked to show that women have a critical role in resolving the conflict, and that it is imperative to act in the spirit of Security Council Resolution 1325
4.
Resolution 1325 of the Security Council requires the parties involved in violent conflicts to respect women's rights and to support the participation and representation of women in peace negotiation processes and conflict resolution. This decision is at the core of the movement and we have worked hard to raise awareness and demand the implementation of the decision.
